Is there a spell or an ability that would allow a person to prevent magical healing of a character who is vanquished. This is to help get around "constant AOE healing" of minions or Characters with out "Killing them".

Not at present. The only way to keep someone from getting up again is to kill them. That said.... It's an interesting idea. We may look into it further.

Coup-de-Gras for a Wound is the fastest way to stop mininons getting back up (they only have one wound, which most of the time will kill them when they fail the TN15 Vigor Action Roll).

Unfortunately, regularly doing this will, in theory, have the NPCs retaliate in kind if they witness it (in practice, most GMs won't penalise you, as the enemy often heavily outnumber once minions are added).

Murderous Precision and/or Smite Heretic on the NPCs with Leadership. :shock:

I would extrapolate from the Healing Skill that someone can only be brought back Vanquished once / scene. We impose that in our games and it works fine.

I personally don't have much truck with reviving fallen minions with AOE healing effects, and dont really do it at tables that I run.

no one has ever complained about fights being too easy at my tables.

and I think I would TPK my home group on a regular basis if they weren't allowed to stand up from vanquished more than once per combat.

I am running with several Charaters, that have several codes against either killing a type of race or have a code against killing in general.

In a battle with against Coyani members of the mother church we only had 2 members of the party morally willing to kill the opponents. When fighting 3 casters constanly casting channeling this made the fight impossible. Only out of judge sympathy did we survive the fight.

I, would love:
a spell like "forever slumber" that may prevent a vanquished from rising unless given a kiss or a kick to to butt.
A physical action called Cold Cock to knock the vanquished unconscious so only a use of first aid with smelling salts would wake them up, before end of scene.

Ok so John: You stated that you only allow a vanquished character to revive once per scene using heal. First of all, are you applying this to PCs, NPCs, or all involved characters? Second, you said "heal". Are you referring to using the Heal Skill/talent (cant remember which it is), or all forms of heal including diminish fatigue as well as any other forms of healing i.e. leadership. I've had a battle or two where I have used either diminish fatigue or Leadership to revive a fallen ally 2-3 times. (Battle that comes to mind is HP 1.4 I think). We would not survive if a was unable to revive someone more than once per scene. Can you clarify?
