Some spells like Heat wave can be maintained. Can a player do anything else while a Spell is maintained? ie, Incidental Steps, if so when, and does that effect the cycle of the Spells Pulse Ie. can a person cast another spell while maintaining one. Ie. can a person swing a sword. ie. Play a flute while using Minor tricks to add background musical accompaniment with it- A must for a Bard of Cadic! If not can there an a CTN to be added to a spell to add a physical Multi-task option and a skill mod-fire to completed skills while maintaining a spell. |

1. A player CAN take incidental steps while maintaining a spell. This adds 1/2 ticks to the next time the spell goes off because of the extra ticks taken to move. 2. A player CANNOT cast a second spell while maintaining a first at the current time given the rules. IF something were to come up like that in the future, it would most likely be a Tier 5 ability for a very select Arcane path. 3. A person CANNOT swing a sword, or make any other form of attack. In essence, you cannot double dip for damage. 4. *Technically* the answer to this is "Not by the rules of the book". I as a Chronicler would allow it on a case by case basis, if a case could be made that playing the flute was *part* of casting the Minor Tricks, and only because it is a spell with very little ability to impact a combat or a social situation. That said, if the Blackchanter path ever gets revisited, such things might be possible for them, as they craft their magic from their music. Regarding adding a CTN boosting ability: No for physical multitasking. As I said, no double dipping for damage. Incorporating skill use into the casting of a spell... now that has some potential, but not in the rules as they currently stand. |

Yeah, what he said. That tallies exactly with what I think about concentration on a sustained spell. |
