Folks,

I took a look for errata for this spell (Player's Guide, pg. 371) and didn't see any. The spell obviously allows the caster to grab a target using Arcanum instead of Melee . It also seems to allow the caster to attempt to Pin the target, but the wording is a bit awkward to my eyes.

Am I correct to assume that if a target is pinned by this spell, there is no option to Punish them, per the grappling rules? If this is correct, what is supposed to happen each 4 ticks when the spell is sustained?

I assume that you would not be allowed to apply any martial techniques or weapon tricks which relate to grappling, through the use of this spell? The Bonebreaker technique, for instance.

I’ve used the spell a lot ... it’s a great way to “eat up” the clock of a large dominant attacker. It’s a lot less useful in combats against a lot of opponents.

As I understand it you cannot perform the punish action even if you pin. You also cannot use standard martial techniques with it.
