Shield Slam is listed as a Tier III trick for the tower shield. What is the tower shields speed and damage so this trick can be used? The tower shield is not listed on the weapon chart.

Thanks!

When I asked about this before, I was told that the tower shield can only be used as a weapon when using this trick. When doing so, treat the weapon statistics as if it were a large shield.

I am bumping this thread for a couple reasons. First, it didn't receive an official response. My assumption had been that the tower shield would be a speed 6/d10 weapon, but it would be good to know for sure.

Second, I have a character with the Huge talent who uses a Tower Shield (which removes the Unwieldy quality). Relative to his size, he is essentially using a Large Shield. I would love to have the option of using martial techniques such as Penetrate Guard or Shield Charge.

Is there any chance of a ruling along the lines of "A Tower Shield without the Unwieldy quality can be treated as a Large Shield for the purpose of qualifying for martial techniques"?

Thanks in advance,

Tower Shield
Add the following after Tier III Shield Slam; shown in bold
Tier III Shield Slam; allowing the wielder of this shield to attack as if his tower shield was a Large Shield

So Speed: 5, Damage: d8

As long as you combine another technique with Shield Slam (which limits the options a bit), you already can. Guarded Charge is in. Penetrate Guard is out (being Advanced).

All of the options make you lose your Av bonus, precluding its best feature.

With a Guarded Charge/Shield Slam at Speed +3 (5), you want to make sure of the hit.
