So I have a renewed interest in the Arcimous Primus fighting Style and the special Arcane Strike martial technique. To get into A.P you need to be Arcane of the Elder, Eldritch or Psionic flavors. If you get into the A.P. fighting style through psionics, but you have a second tradition of spells you cast, can you then run basic spells from the other traditions through Arcane Strike such as Primal or Sorceror Priest or Primal? What about divine spells?

The core language from Arcane Strike starts off:"Effect: Weapon; choose any basic spell that requires an attack roll; you may cast this spell as part of this attack. The range of this spell is changed to melee and it only affects the target of this maneuver..."

That seems to be to say that yes you could run other Arcanum Traditions through an Arcane Strike. As written seems to imply that even divine spells could be run through a blade ... is that what was intended? I'm not sure divine spells should be so channeled.

The easy one: You cannot use Divine as the Talent requires the Arcane Arcanum. In general the Talent also would require Battle Magi which restricts Cants. If that's not enough the Requirements on Arcimous Primus are "Arcane Spell Casting".

Now for Sorcerer-Priest and Primal. By a strict (campaign) reading of the rules, I would say 'no' since the special limitations for "Learn Fighting Style" are

Quote:
Special (Limitations): You may only utilize a Fighting Style’s stance when using that style’s chosen weapons or chosen weapon combinations. The benefits of a Fighting Style only apply while in that Fighting Style’s stance.

Given that the requirements are a combination of Weapon (Melee) and Arcane Spell Casting (Elder, Eldritch or Psionic), that would preclude using other Arcane sources with your Stance's benefits. Since you gain the Talent as part of the Fighting Style.

Now, a lose (home) reading of the rules would probably allow it. Since it doesn't say "While in this stand, you gain the Arcane Strike Martial Technique". However, I believe that's the Rules As Intended for all fighting styles.

I think John hit all the pertinent points with regards to the quoted limitation. The limitation is easily overlooked as part of those fighting styles.

Arcimous Primus needs its weapons requirements cleaned up a bit, but the concept is understood.

I think the "Steel Dragon" needs to be cleaned up a bit also. The description says Steel Whip and light off hand weapon. However the requirements specifically mention Melee (Balanced). So the question is, to use Steel Dragon stance do you need a light Balanced off-hand or just a light off-hand weapon (Could be unbalanced or unarmed)?
