 Post subject: Experts and the Talent Adaptable

I was talking with a friend the other day about ho the expert archetype and the Adaptable talent interact. If you are an Expert can you choose and use this talent at Step 2 of character creation (choose your Archetype) to gain a rank in Arcanum (Shamanism) to qualify for the Shaman's Apprentice Background in Step 6 (Choose a Background)?

Thanks! I vaguely recall this or something similar being debated on the old forum but don't remember the ruling.

I actually just sat down with my wife and designed a character built exactly as you described it. As the rules are written, it seems to me that it is allowed...although I'll be watching this thread for an official response ;)
