Skyward spell, on decent can a person move sideways, since the person is gliding?
Or is the person to land on the same square unless they can grab something on the way down

Has anyone used this spell?

I saw it once and allowed it to be used for lateral movement. Have no real idea if that is the correct interpretation or not but it seemed cool at the time.

So this spell could be read in many different ways. here is how I interpret it (Caveat, my main character uses this spell)

Tick 1 Delbert casts Skyward (advancing his clock by 2 and strain by 3) For simplicities sake he chooses to go 60' into the air.

Tick 3 Delbert propels himself into the air at pace '60 by taking a move action (and advances his clock 4 ticks, and reduces his strain to 0)

Tick 7 He has reached his apogee and now begins to glide back to earth, he takes a 5 tick action and begins to glide back to the earth as "free" movement at a rate of 30' per 4 ticks, that is 30' forward and 30' down

Tick 12 he has another action he is about 25' off the ground he takes a 3 tick movement action to change his direction to turn 90 degrees (look up clumsy flight maneuverability) and land 25 feet away.

But I don't really use it during combat, its more for jumping up walls and bypassing climb checks, etc etc

As the spell lists the maneuverability of the subject on both portions of the spell (60 (Agile), 30 (clumsy)) I would assume you can engage in some lateral movement. If it was simply a launch, it would say "You move 60 feet straight up."

I guess I could use this to get down a cliff face as well, Jump 10 and then land 100ft below clumsily

Its a cool "out of the box" way to use that combination of spells..

I approve ;)
