The FiM2 released a new skill (specialization) in the form of Knowledge: Metaphysics. However, I'm not sure that the skill is (as written) sufficiently different than Knowledge: Arcanum or Arcanum (Lo), at least as far as adventures have gone. This isn't to mean it shouldn't be removed, but I think the areas of the three should be more clearly delineated, at least for Chronicler's and writers.
For example:
Knowledge: Arcanum - Used to identify specific spell effects, sources, or the result of spells. This includes identifying magical beasts and their powers.
Knowledge: Metaphysics - Knowledge of how materials are used in magic and other supernatural effects. This would include knowing that a certain type of black stone would act as a focus for Arcane power, or a Dwarven Soul Shard can act as a magical capacitor.
Arcanum (Lo) - With the above skills, I cannot see this one really being used except as a "back up" for the above skills at a higher TN?
