I completely missed this until I went looking for what you were talking about (and it has apparently been there since v2 in 2012). Why was recovery on advanced maneuvers increased? Advanced maneuvers have not seemed broken at all with the speed/recovery listed in the rulebook (eg slower recovery + faster speed). Making even higher recovery will mean it will not be uncommon to have to make two basic attacks in between maneuvers (which significantly hurts martial archetypes and significantly decreases the effectiveness of physical combat compared to spells). If this change was thought necessary, why do advanced spells not have a similar strain? Per errata 4.3, the strain is only the slower strain + the faster speed (not the faster speed or strain, whichever is worse). |
