Funny you should mention it, I just sent a PM to Pedro about it. According to the Wikipedia article the Halberd was the preferred weapon to use against unarmored or lightly armored troops, while the pollaxe was better against knights and such. It would actually be the weapon the Milandisian Knights would use, since the larger Tralian Hammer would be used by infantry in same way the Lucerne Hammer or Bec de Corbin would be used. I've seen artwork depicting battles in the later Middle Ages/War of the Roses period and I see a fair number of pollaxes being used by men at arms. As much as I always like the Tralian Hammer I always wanted something a little less unwieldy and am willing to give up damage potential in the trade. Just my opinion on the subject.
Actually given what I've read about it I'd much rather use it in most situations rather than your standard sword. It's much more versatile. They do say it had a sophisticated fighting style (which could be reflected in weapon tricks and martial techniques).
