Special: Enlarged Legs, Hunch Back, and Malformed Arm all require the gnome utilize custom fitted armor (see Equipment, pg. 230). If a gnome were to acquire legendary robes, which while technically not armor (per the table 2-25 on page 233 of the Codex), do provide +1 armor value, would the robes then have to be custom fitted for the gnome in order to function as armor? Or, because they are 'certed' do they count as being custom fitted? Chris |

My assumption would be that if the item is something gifted to you specifically (which does happen a couple of times in the first Arc), the armour would be fitted to you. If, on the other hand, it is something that you simply loot/find, then you would have to pay for the modifications. While on one level it might make sense for robes to either not require modification or be cheaper to modify, rules are rules and they would have to be considered the same as any other armour. The above is completely non-official, just my own opinions. |

i think any clothing/armor needs to be fitted if it is going to provide a benefit. Mind you that a toga doesn't need to be fitted much, but then it doesn't provide a benefit. Althrough I don't know that is written down anywhere. |

I generally agree with you both, I just hadn't thought of the robes as armor until today (setting up my character for Arcanicon). And since it isn't armor, MAY not qualify for RAW. In this case, the robes partially provide an armor value due to home much structural support for the robes themselves, as well as the thickness of the garments themselves. Thus my question. Chris |

If you just want to wear robes for pure roleplay, there wouldn't be any restrictions/requirements. If you are gaining some material benefit from them (defences, AR, etc), then you would need to have them modified. |

If these are the Legendary Robes recovered from the Vault of Larissa then yes I believe they do need to be resized for your gnome at standard costs. The First Imperium tailors did not build to gnomish proportions for obvious reasons. |
