I would hope it's not destroyed (otherwise, I'll just start using runes on other people's weapons for those spells). I could see maybe deactivating the rune for the rest of the scene at worst.

Good question. In a Home Game I could see very powerful spells destroying a rune as it consumed the energy, but for simplicity's sake (and for the Living Campaign), the rune is deactivated (i.e., the flame is snuffed out) and must be reactivated.

Please remember that activating a rune is a Trivial action.
