Question about the two gold coins required to cast this spell. Are they consumed by the casting completely? Or to they remain with the Zombie body? I ask because I get the impression that they would stay with the body when animated.But there is nothing to support that contention, or the opposite. I'd would assume that the coins would be destroyed if the zombie was destroyed.

Then, in LA can the binding spell be carried over from one adventure to another? The primary motive for this would of course to save the cost of 2G every adventure you want a pet meat shield. In which case the zombie would be treated as equipment, not a spell.

As for bringing a Zombie into social situations.... I'd expect my pet would face the same issues that an undead PC would have.

I assume the gold coins are consumed.

I do not allow bindings from an old module to still be up in a module I judge.

2 Gc per module makes that a very expensive spell (although it would take a lot of modules to add up to the price of Sorcerous Pact spells).

The more I think about it, the more I realize that this spell will not be used much.....

The problem is that as soon as the zombie leaves the 30' sphere of control, it becomes uncontrolled. Not too bad of a restriction. But the other time that the zombie becomes uncontrolled is when the binding ends. Since binding spells end when the caster is vanquished, this presents a tactical problem. Odds are that the closest target to the now uncontrolled zombie is the vanquished caster. :oops:

Yea, letting loose a hard to defeat Elite Zombie mid combat is kinda tough. Especially when the one party member most equiped to defeat the zombie is down. So I guess I will shelve this spell for NPC use.
