I am sure this has been covered somewhere before, but I am not finding it. Can you dual cast Divine/Psioic? Meaning can you have access to both Divine and Psionic Spells?

The spell casting miscibility rules as they stand:

1) Psionics plays nice with everything else.
2) Nothing else plays nice with anything else.

Been awhile since I read posts here, but yes anything mixes with psionics.

I answered a question for my friend wondering about dual casting divine and psionics, and I further explained to him that with divine casting and psionics (vals only and specific others so far), your psionic powers are based on val bloodline while your divine casting is based on deity worship. Vals are not exclusively required to worship their bloodline deity. With a decent back story, you can explain why your val'Sheem worships Neroth.

Attack: Backstory
Category: Advanced
Range: 0', 10' Radius (Within earshot)
Speed: 5 (+0) (as long as it takes to state)
Duration: Scene
Defense: Discipline
Effect: Stunned. Individuals hearing the tale may become disoriented or confused attempting to reconcile extreme differences in expectations.

Adaptation: By increasing the volume at which the tale is told, the radius may be increased by 10'. This adaptation may be applied multiple times to the limit of the user's voice.

;)

:D Ha!

That's a very good point. In my general experience, when you design a character you get to make a major break to a trope or stereotype *ONCE* otherwise you risk being regarded as a bag of numbers and justifications.

Also for the record, there's nothing wrong with a val'Sheem worshiping Neroth at all. Who you worship and pray to has little if anything to do with your particular lineage.

It's when you try and explain why your val'Sheem has val'Mordane powers because your mother was a val'Sheem but your father was a val'Mordane, and despite it being a direct contravention of accepted social norms you were raised by the val'Sheem side of the family, yet still somehow managed to undergo the psionic training from the val'Mordane family with their mentagi etc etc.... that we start raising our eyebrows.

I have a question about that. If dad is a val'Holryn and mom a val'Ishi anything is possible, given the wild card that is the val'Holryn bloodline. If a daughter was born and found to have the val'Emman bloodline where would she go to be raised? OR could she simply keep the val'Holryn name since that is what she looks like?
