Shield Defense and Wall of Steel both have a speed of 1(5). Are they treated as trivial actions (or are usable as such)? For example could you dash as a speed 3 action, and then use Shield Defense, giving you it's benefits until your next action? If not, could you combine them with incidental movement effectively? I ask this because simply using it as it's own action seems... hard to use effectively, as without knowing when an enemy will act you'll have to simply skip your actions to keep it up.

As an extension of this question, do all speed 1 actions act as trivial actions? Or do they have to explicitly state that they're trivial?

they have to explicitly say they are trivial actions

As Josh said an action must says Trivial. It's not sufficient to just be speed 1 or 2.

Wall of Steel got erratad. It is +1 now with no delaying.

Having trouble finding that errata, doesn't seem to be in the faq. In addition what does it mean by speed +1? Does the no delaying apply to Shield Defense as well?

Keep in mind that speed 1 and 2 *skill actions* can be combined with another action. (see Skills chapter).
Talents vary about whether they are combinable or not.

Correction, Trivial and Simple Skill actions can be combined. Actions that are Speed 1 or 2 that aren't labeled as Trivial or Simple are not combinable without special permission written in.
